NZFC Announces New Structure

Big changes are coming to the New Zealand Film Commission (NZFC). Starting July 1, NZFC will implement a new structure, disestablishing 28 positions and creating 15 new roles. A huge shout-out to all staff who have been supporting the industry over the last several years, but who are now moving on as a result of the transition.

What's Next for NZFC?

Key changes include:

  • Industry-led Direct Funding for Talent Development: Focusing on above-the-line talent.

  • No More Creative Script Feedback: shifting focus to funding rather than creative development of domestic films.

  • Streamlining International Marketing and Incentives Processes

NZFC remains dedicated to funding feature films and delivering international rebates. Recently, they showcased NZ films and film services at Cannes, including a special mention of the animated series Kiri and Lou.
