NZFC Announces New Structure
Big changes are coming to the New Zealand Film Commission (NZFC). Starting July 1, NZFC will implement a new structure, disestablishing 28 positions and creating 15 new roles. A huge shout-out to all staff who have been supporting the industry over the last several years, but who are now moving on as a result of the transition.
What's Next for NZFC?
Key changes include:
Industry-led Direct Funding for Talent Development: Focusing on above-the-line talent.
No More Creative Script Feedback: shifting focus to funding rather than creative development of domestic films.
Streamlining International Marketing and Incentives Processes
NZFC remains dedicated to funding feature films and delivering international rebates. Recently, they showcased NZ films and film services at Cannes, including a special mention of the animated series Kiri and Lou.
