Show Me Shorts Film Festival launches in cinemas nationwide this October. This will be the 18th edition of New Zealand’s largest and most important short film festival. More than 100 screenings will take place in 35+ venues nationwide, presenting 86 short films from Aotearoa and around the world.

Opening Night celebrations will take place in Auckland tonight, Christchurch on 11 October and Wellington on 12 October.
 
Highlight films include 7 Minutes directed by Ricky Gervais with his trademark awkwardness; the powerful directorial debut of British actor Simon Woods (Pride & Prejudice) with Such a Lovely Day; and the directorial debut of New Zealand actor Jonny Brugh (What We Do in the Shadows) with a quirky story about ageing and faith – Proof starring David Fane and Morgana O’Reilly.
