PRPVFX Completes 340 VFX Shots for Flying Lotus' Sci-Fi Thriller ASH

PRPVFX is excited to announce the completion of 340 visual effects shots for the highly anticipated feature film ASH, directed by visionary filmmaker and musician Flying Lotus. Produced by GFC Films and XYZ Films, ASH is a sci-fi thriller that delves into a mysterious, high-stakes drama set on a distant planet, starring Eiza González and Aaron Paul.

This project provided the team at PRPVFX with an incredible opportunity to collaborate closely with Flying Lotus. His creative vision and deep involvement in every aspect of production allowed for a uniquely immersive experience, bringing the film’s chilling atmosphere and complex visual elements to life. The blend of paranoia, trust issues, and the eerie isolation of space makes ASH a tense, unforgettable ride, and PRPVFX was integral to developing the visual narrative that supports the film's gripping plot. The film follows a woman (González) who awakens on a distant planet to discover her space station crew has been killed. As the investigation unfolds, it becomes unclear if she can trust the man (Paul) sent to rescue her.

Flying Lotus, known for his genre-defying work in music and film, also composed the original score for ASH, further deepening the project’s creative synergy. His ability to blend music with the narrative's visual and emotional tone set the stage for our VFX artists to explore innovative techniques that helped elevate the film’s visual storytelling.
